Mica is a survivor, space-holder, and strategist exposing the psychological weapons behind Evangelical Christianity’s hostile takeover of America. A product of evangelical childhood indoctrination, cultic control, and conversion therapy, Mica has spent the last 25 years unraveling the systems of coercion, repression, and fear that now threaten our way of life.
Equally adept at delivering penetrating insights or warm nurturing presence, Mica freely accesses divine masculine and divine feminine energies while embodying neither. Mica’s existence is nature’s reminder that all boundaries are illusions and that there are always more than two options!
Radicalized from Birth
In the Pipeline
Born and raised in Florida to an evangelical family that fractured early under the weight of authoritarian religion, Mica was systematically brainwashed into becoming a foot soldier for fascism by the very same Christian right now engaged in a hostile takeover of the entire US government.
After completing K-12 Christian Schooling, Mica was sent to live and work at Teen Mania Ministries, the most powerful evangelical youth ministry of the 90s and 2000s. That formative two year experience was so devastatingly traumatic that it took nearly a decade to stabilize the resulting PTSD symptoms.
When Mica left Teen Mania in 1999, there were few resources on the internet about religious trauma, spiritual abuse, coercive control, and cult dynamics. So in 2008, at the height of Teen Mania’s popularity, Mica felt moved to create the Recovering Alumni website as a resource for others to break free from their programming.
The community that resulted from this humble endeavor was beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Hundreds of survivors stepped forward to break their oath of silence. They shared shocking and heartbreaking stories of physical, mental and emotional abuse. Armed with their stories, Mica went to the press. It began with a 3 night expose by local news and ended with a 1 hour program on MSNBC called “Mind Over Mania.”
Due to this exposure, Teen Mania’s recruitment numbers plummeted. Without the free labor to keep the ministry going, their campus went into foreclosure and bankruptcy soon followed.

The Christian Brainwashing Industrial Complex is a vast decentralized network of media empires, religious institutions, and cultural groups working in collaboration to isolate their children from the wider world, brainwashing them from birth to serve as the foot soldiers of fascism.
Mica desires to serve the collective by holding space for all of those reclaiming their own minds, identities, and voices and to offer a path to healing and recovery for every victim of this lifelong brainwashing process. Providing an analysis grounded in lived experience, and the latest developments in neuroscience and psychotraumatology, Mica explores the way childhood indoctrination and control impacts brain development, emotional development and relational safety so that you can return to the site of rupture and begin repair.
Mica’s passion is to see people dissolve their limiting beliefs and identities to become their truest selves, unleashing their unique authenticity and vitality into the world.
Current Life
Mica is life partner to Rachel and devoted guardian to labradoodle, Pippin. A Gen X American that emigrated to Vancouver, BC in the wake of Trump’s first term, ze is an entrepreneur, voracious reader, and nature enthusiast who enjoys collaborating with the power of plant medicine while listening to Broadway showtunes.
Mica is currently alive with curiosity around how we can create robust community and new ways of life amongst the decay and collapse of the old order. Co-creating transformational spaces for people to practice building autonomy, inner resilience and relational skills through conscious connection is the ultimate goal.
